MAX Bus Rapid Transit Service

Come Join Us on MAX!

MAX Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) serves major activity and employment centers throughout our community including Midtown, CSU and Downtown. MAX links with other Transfort bus routes, Park-n-Rides, the City's bicycle/pedestrian trail system, and other local and regional transit routes to provide seamless service for passengers.

MAX follows a dedicated transit-only guideway (its own road) and mixed-traffic streets that run parallel to the BNSF Railway between the South Transit Center (south of Harmony Road) and Downtown. It is served by 12 stations and stops.

Enjoy Free WiFi on board MAX!

MAX offers free 4G LTE WiFi. Access can be gained by selecting "TRANSFORT" from the list of internet connections. Please do not ask the bus driver for assistance. Note that service may not be available on certain buses and is subject to periodic outages.

Questions About MAX?

How to Ride MAX

  1. Determine your fare. Purchase your MAX ticket before boarding at a station ticket machine or transit center – cash and credit cards are accepted. Do not show your ticket or pass to the bus driver. All Transfort bus passes are accepted on MAX. For help on using the ticket machines, download the user guide.
  2. Watch for a bus arrival time - Bus arrival information is displayed on screens and announcements at the stations.
  3. Enter one of three doors - wheelchairs to the front, bicycles to the rear.
  4. Wheelchairs - Enter through the front door. Choose either forward or rearward facing. MAX can accommodate two passengers with wheelchairs.
  5. Bicycles - Enter through the rear door. MAX can accommodate up to four bicycles. Secure your bicycle to a floor rack with the wheel holder, or hang your bicycle in an vertical rack. Make sure your bike is clear of the aisle. If no room is available on the bus, park your bicycle in a rack or wait for the next bus. Learn more.
  6. Transit Service Officers will ask for your ticket or bus pass once on board.
  7. Transfers - If you need to transfer to another route, keep your ticket as the transfer slip.
