Spring Cleaning to Help Those in Need

Transfort, Homeward Alliance and local businesses are partnering to collect donations that will help those facing homelessness. A Transfort bus will be at five different locations March 25-29 collecting non-perishable food items, outerwear and children’s clothing to distribute throughout our community. Stop by with your donations - with your help, we can stuff the bus!

Dates & Locations

Monday, March 25 | 9am – 12pm | Walkway behind 222 LaPorte Ave.

Tuesday, March 26 | 1pm – 5pm | Foothills Mall, JKF Pkwy. & Monroe Dr.

Wednesday, March 27 | 9am – 1pm| Canvas Credit Union, 2503 Research Blvd.

Thursday, March 28 | 12pm – 5pm | CSU, University Ave. in front of Hartshorn

Friday, March 29 | 1pm – 4pm | Brinkman & Brinkman Construction, 3528 Precision Dr.

Accepted Items

Homeward Alliance’s mission is to empower individuals and families who face homelessness to survive, move forward and thrive. Top donation needs include:

  • Rain coats and ponchos
  • Hooded sweatshirts and jackets
  • Boots and shoes
  • Hats and socks
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Children's clothing

New or used items for adults and children are accepted. Visit homewardalliance.org to see the full list of collected items.

The inaugural Stuff the Bus event in 2018 was a huge success! Transfort and the City of Fort Collins partnered with Canvas Credit Union and Brinkman & Brinkman Construction to collect much needed outdoor clothing and gear as well as non-perishable food. The event supported Homeward Alliance’s mission of empowering individuals and families who face homelessness to survive, move forward and thrive.

Some of the items collected during the event included:

  • 200+ winter coats
  • 50+ day packs
  • 100+ pairs of shoes and boots
  • 450+ sweatshirts, hoodies, fleece, and light jackets
  • 15 boxes of non-perishable food items
